Job Summary

 

Assists with the establishment, development and maintenance of district charter schools including application and review processes, contract monitoring, program implementation, and student enrollment.

 

Essential Functions

 

1. Monitors the compliance of charter schools with provisions of their contracts.
2. Tracks and organizes contract deliverables.
3. Conducts site visits to charter schools.
4. Disseminates information from the district and State to charter schools.
5. Serves on a team responsible to monitor compliance with grants received by the charter schools.
6. Prepares charter school application for potential new operators.
7. Schedules and organizes sessions to help potential charter school operators prepare a successful proposal.
8. Prepares reports on agenda items and site visit results.
9. Assists with the preparation of the renewal application process for existing charter schools.
10. Maintains data on charter schools including enrollment, teacher certification, and student demographics, and student achievement.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

 

Experience:  Five (5) years experience in an educational, business or legal setting.  Knowledge of state statutes regarding Charter schools.  Experience in contract negotiations and monitoring.  Experience working with diverse groups and independent contractors. Prior administrative or supervisory experience preferred.  Ability to establish goals, manage projects, facilitate groups, analyze data, write reports, and design and implement programs.

 

Certifications & Licenses: Florida Department of Education Certification in any area.
