Job Summary

 

Develops and directs initiatives and programs in support of district- and school-based business partnership outreach and involvement objectives.  Supervises volunteer, mentor, and district- and school-based business partnership outreach programs.  Administers and analyzes district-wide community engagement data.

 

Essential Functions

 

1. Develops and/or implements programs and initiatives, as well as technical assistance workshops to enhance and expand business partnerships.
2. Using appropriate technology, works with district and school administrators to ensure stakeholders’ (schools, community volunteers, and business partners) needs are addressed and documented for comprehensive and effective support for schools. Ensures timely planning and execution of district obligations delivered in fulfillment of business partnership agreements.
3. Develops and delivers in-service training and materials to school-based personnel regarding volunteer procedures, opportunities and creating welcoming school and district environments.
4. Prepares and submits annual budget estimates that balance requirements with available resources.
5. Promotes business partnership outreach and involvement by serving and participating on local councils and committees.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.   

 

Experience: Three (3) years experience in department or program management.  Five (5) years experience in a community relations capacity that includes involvement in enrichment programs, development of community partnerships, and/or volunteer activities.  One (1) year experience in pre-employment or pre-volunteer screening.

• Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge database tool for collection and analysis of information for departmental short and long-term work plans
• Knowledge of current trends in customer service and community engagement
• Knowledge or public school system cultures
• Knowledge of typical organizational hierarchy and functions, including the distinction between line and staff positions
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong word processing, email and calendar tool, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software skills
