Job Summary

 

Unskilled and semi-skilled plumbing-related work installing, maintaining, repairing, and operating irrigation systems. 

 

Essential Functions

1.    Inspects, installs, maintains, and repairs irrigation systems and related sprinkler equipment and associated plumbing fixtures in accordance with applicable codes and regulatory standards.

2.    Reviews technical specifications and related design data to include blueprints, electrical diagrams and schematics.

3.    Inspects and programs irrigation-related time clocks.

4.    Develops parts and supply list for assigned projects.

5.    Keeps records of time and material used.

6.    Maintain parts inventory.

10%

7.    Hand excavates underground piping and associated irrigation infrastructure.

10%

8.    Operates trenches, compactors, power, and hand tools.

10%

9.    Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Open Requirements:  A three (3)-year combination of education, training, or plumbing experience which involved the installation, repair, or operation of irrigation systems.  Must have the physical ability to meet the physical demands of this job and perform the essential functions.

Licensing/Certification/Registration:  A valid Florida driver's license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class.
